The history of MMA back dates to ancient Greek rule, where a full-contact sport called pankration was in practice. Pankration, which was included in the ancient Olympics in 648 BC, was one among the earliest combat sports that were played only with minimal rules.
Following the decline of ancient combat sports, various other martial arts and fighting techniques evolved. Modern day MMA was considered to be developed by martial arts legend Bruce Lee, who used fighting techniques of various martial arts like karate, jiu jitsu, boxing and kung fu etc.
